I’m Nabil, a graphic designer. I’ve been passionate about graphic design and print for as long as I could remember. I am self taught and proficient in the Adobe Suite. I founded my own design & print company over the summer of 2011, and since that time, I have amassed over fifty clients. I have the experience and nability to help you succeed in your industry.

    General Manager and Founder

    ThinkShirt.com is an internet based apparel and promotional items manufacturer. We design and print t-shirts among other items such as hoodies, crewnecks, banners and buttons. We offer competitive pricing with high quality standards and quick turnaround speeds. As General Manager I oversee all aspects of the business including customer service, artwork, marketing and day-to-day business operations.

  • Townsend Harris Student Union 2012-2013

    Public Relations Director, Website Administrator

    As the Public Relations Director for the Townsend Harris High School Student Union (student government) I oversee marketing aspects of all Student Union events. I work closely with clubs and school administrators to publicize and advertise school events and activities. I have worked closely with nearly all the departments of my school. As the Student Union Website Administrator I oversee the production, development and maintenance of the newly launched Student Union website. The idea for a website was propagated by me with the full support of the current Student Union Executive Board.

    Editor-in-Chief

    The HawkEye News is a student run newspaper that covered the events of the 2012 Election Simulation at Townsend Harris High School. As editor-in-chief I had approximately 12 people on my staff, including editors, reporters, feature writers, cartoonists, and sales. I oversaw every aspect of our paper. I along with my editor delegated tasks to our staff on a weekly basis. Other responsibilities included reviewing articles for spelling, grammar and writing style, writing editorials, motivating and developing the staff, handling reader complaints, and taking responsibility for any errors amongst others.

  • MIST New York2012 - Present

    Regional Webdesign Intern

    MIST NY is the regional chapter of the Muslim Interscholastic Tournament. As a webdesign intern I am assisting in the development of a newly redesigned website that is both visually appealing, intuitive and practical for potential competitors. The website provides updates relevant to schools in the New York region, including but not limited to Townsend Harris High School, Stuyvesant High School and the Bronx High School of Science.

  • New York City Muslim Center Grappling2012 - Present

    Creative Director

    As the creative director of the NYCMC Grappling Club, I produce trailers and videos to advertise to young Muslim and non-Muslim males. The grappling club is a free wrestling club under the supervision of a YMCA wrestling coach, and current wrestler.

  • Harris Camels T-Shirt Fundraiser 2012

    Coordinator

    Under the marketing director position I coordinated the Harris Camels T-Shirt Fundraiser. I designed and printed the t-shirts, produced flyers, set-up an order website and distributed the t-shirts. We fundraised over $500.00 dollars.

  • Flamingo Artichoke Design and Print Services2011 - 2014

    Owner, Chief Executive Officer, President

    Flamingo Artichoke Design and Print Services is a small company I started in the summer of 2011. The company is owned by myself, (though for legal reasons is registered under my mom's name), I am the only employee and handle all paperwork, financial information and client work for the company. Since its inception I have received over one hundred orders and amassed over 50 clients including not-for-profit organizations, photo studios, music firms, corporate businesses, schools and individuals. I've designed and printed t-shirts, posters, flyers, banners, business cards, post-its, postcards, envelopes, brochures, and websites, amongst other print and digital media. The fall of 2012 marked a milestone in my company as I rebranded my company and began engaging in inter-state commerce.

    Graphic Designer

    As a graphic designer for REB Entertainment I produce event flyers, postcards, business cards and other print material. I have designed several websites and web pages for this firm and its partners. In the past I've produced CD album covers and web promotion banners.

  • Townsend Harris Muslim Students Association2011 - Present

    Marketing Director, Copresident

    As the marketing director of Townsend's own MSA, I produced club flyers encouraging Harrisites to join our MSA or just stop by our weekly meetings. The MSA has grown from roughly 20 members in the 2010-2011 school year to over 50 members currently and still expanding. Next year I will act as the copresident of the MSA.

  • Townsend Harris Fencing Club & Team2010 - Present

    Club President, Team Manager, Epee Cocaptain

    Apart from being a epee fencer on the Townsend Harris Fencing Team, I am also the Fencing Club President, Team Manager and Epee Cocaptain. Epee is a type of weapon (ie. a sword) and a team within the fencing team. I created club flyers advertising our weekly meetings, created the fencing bulletin board, designed the team apparel, and coordinated team fundraising. I am currently the manager of the Girls' Fencing Team.

  • Queens College Muslim Student Association2009 - Present

    Graphic Designer

    As graphic designer for the Queens College MSA, I produced event flyers and postcards for nearly all the event they hosted. Events included weekly classes, dinners, lectures to parties. Along with the the printed work, digital copies were produced for e-mail and Facebook.

  • Al-Maghrib Institute, Qabelaat Tayybah 2009

    Marketing Coordinator, Social Media Specialist

    As a marketing director for Qabelaat Tayybah of Al-Maghrib Institute, I primarily managed the groups social media. I produced a trailer for a seminar called "Touched by an Angel Juz 'Amma". The group holds several educational Islamic orientated seminars every year. I also produced several event flyers for the group's "Tayybah Descends" project.

    Tutorials, How-To Videos

    As a computer specialist I produced countless computer-related tutorials on Youtube. These tutorials ranged from simple how-to's to more complicated graphic and motion graphic tutorials. I interacted with other Youtube users on video collaborations. For some time, I designed Youtube channel backgrounds as per request by users.

  • 1st Place T-Shirt Logo Design 2012

    Arab American Institute and  National Network for Arab American Communities

    I was the winner of a nationwide contest to design the logo for a National Voter Registration Day sponsored by the AAI and the NNAAC. The logo was printed on shirts and worn by thousands of Arab American volunteers across a number of states who participated in efforts to register voters for the November elections. 

  • High Honor, 'Red Ribbon' 2012

    ACL/NJCL National Greek Examination

    I received a high honor award for my performance on the National Greek Examination during my second year of Ancient Greek study. Students who acheive high honor status receive a red ribbon, which is the 2nd highest performance rank. This award is quite rare, I was one of only two students in my Greek classes to receive this award.

  • 1st Place Web Design 2012

    MIST Nationals

    An updated version of my website design for the Townsend Harris Muslim Student Association received 1st place at this year's MIST (Muslim Inter-Scholastic Tournament) National Tournament in Toronto, Ontario. The website was for our team Harrislam, centered around this year's tournament theme: family. My entry surpassed high schools across the nation from California to Florida, and even defeated local rivals; Stuyvesant High School and The Bronx High School of Science.

  • 1st Place Short Film 2011

    MIST Regionals

    Our MIST Short Film titled "I Am Not Afraid to Stand Alone," which I directed and produced received 1st place at last year's MIST (Muslim Inter-Scholastic Tournament). We defeated Stuyvesant High School, Bronx High School of Science and Benjamin N. Cardozo High School amongst others.

  • 1st Place Short Ad, TV Spot 2009

    VideoGame911

    My entry to a TV spot competition held by video game console repair company, VideoGame911, received first place. The "Developer's Challenge" as it was called was held for several months. The TV spot was featured on the company's social media sites and website, as well as local television channels.

  • 2nd Place Newsletter2012

    MIST Nationals

    My newsletter design placed second in the MIST National tournament. The newsletter featured over 12 pages of original articles, photographs and graphics. The publication titled 'Al-Hayat Newsletter' (Life in Arabic) received extremely high scores from judges falling only a few points behind 1st place. It should be noted however, the publication surpassed that of Stuyvesant High School's.

    MIST Regionals

    My MIST digital arty titled "I Am Loyal to...", received 2nd place at last year's MIST (Muslim Inter-Scholastic Tournament) just behind Stuyvesant High School. It has been showcased on the MIST regional website.

    NYC Board of Education, High School Directory Cover

    My design for the 2012-2013 High School Directory Cover received 3rd place in the design competition. Out of over 200 submissions, my design was selected as one of the 15 finalists. By public vote, I became 1 of the 3 semi-finalists and upon the judges' decision the 3rd place winner.

  • 4th Place Short Film2012

    MIST Regionals

    Our short film titled "Should I Send You...," which I directed and produced received 4th place at this year's MIST (Muslim Inter-Scholastic Tournament). We defeated Stuyvesant High School and Benjamin N. Cardozo High School amongst others.

  • Red Cross Club Leadership Award 2010

    American Red Cross in Greater New York

    During my freshman year of high school my active participation in Red Cross Club and the American Red Cross in Greater New York gave me the unique opportunity to work closely with the Red Cross Youth Services Director at the Red Cross headquarters in the city. My involvement in preparing marketing material for a benefit concert and participation in Red Cross meetings nominated me for this leadership award.
